New Year’s Resolutions for RV Owners

New Year’s resolutions can be great for setting personal goals, but why not be more specific and set resolutions for yourself as an RV owner? Sometimes we imagine how much travel and adventure we’ll have when we invest in RV ownership, yet it doesn’t always come to be. As we quickly approach the new year, here are some ideas for a year of meeting your RV goals.

Explore New Types of Travel

It can be easy to fall into a travel routine when you frequently use your RV. Set a goal to try several different travel experiences!

For example, if you tend to stay at remote sites, challenge yourself to camp in a more urban area. Or consider inviting friends you’ve never traveled with before!

Buy the Parks Pass

Stop daydreaming about National Park adventures and buy the darn pass! Almost every Canadian park offers camping accommodations, or get your passport and explore the many National Parks in the Northern United States. Even if you only plan a few park stays, having the pass will save you money in the long run!

Start Documenting Your Travel

Whether you’re a relatively new RVer or have been planning trips for years, now is the time to start capturing memories if you haven’t been already. Start a travel blog or social media channel for yourself! Even if you keep your account private, it’s amazing to have a place to reflect on past memories.

If documenting with technology isn’t your forte, consider starting a scrapbook or travel journal to track your adventures. Take time to keep notes about the places you’ve been and collect fun memorabilia to showcase.

Mark an Item Off Your Bucket List

Surely you have a bucket list tucked away somewhere in your mind or on an old piece of paper. Revisit your wish list and make plans to complete one of those items! There’s no time better than the present to accomplish your dreams.

Upgrade Your RV

Maybe you’re ready to upgrade to a newer model or have a project you’ve been meaning to do. Prioritize RV upgrades this year! Find some new decorations, have a solar panel installed, or fall in love with a brand new model!

Utilize the Off-Season

It’s easy to box travel into a small period of time when the weather is optimal and schedules are less busy, but why not utilize the off-season months for exploration, too? You own your RV year-round, so put it to use all year!

There are many available resources to help you travel in colder months, plus you’ll get to experience smaller crowds when you choose not to vacation at peak times.

Now is the time to set resolutions and get excited for the year ahead! Make yourself a list of RV resolutions and visit us in Port Coquitlam or 100 Mile House, BC. Our team at Meridian RV can help you find the right upgrades or assist with the planning process! We are proud to serve the Vancouver and Kamloops areas.
